Derbys 

With the open lace facing the Derby is considered to be more sporty than the Oxford. This style particularly favors the man with a high instep. The Dover style incorporates a hand sewn apron and toe seam. The ancient craft of hand sewing, not with a steel needle but a pig's bristle, is a painstaking process of hand and eye co-ordination that takes many years to perfect.
